Egg extraction from a woman’s ovaries is done using a method called in vitro fertilization (IVF). The fertilized egg (embryo) is returned to the woman’s uterus after being fertilized with sperm in an IVF Treatment Pakistan.
Purpose
IVF is one of the assisted reproductive techniques (ART) used for infertile couples who cannot have children. If a woman who has had intercourse for more than a year without contraceptive counting cannot conceive, she is suspected of infertility. Endometriosis, hormone imbalances, and blocked or damaged fallopian tubes are a few factors that contribute to infertility in women. Low sperm counts or poor sperm might be the cause of infertility in men.
IVF is one of several ways infertile couples can increase their chances of conceiving. This applies depending on the cause of infertility. IVF may be an option if the reason is a blockage of the fallopian tubes or intrauterine fibroids in a woman or low or unhealthy sperm in a man. Other treatment options, such as surgery for blocked tubes or endometrial fibroids, may have been tried before IVF.
IVF will not work for women unable to ovulate or for men unable to produce minimally healthy sperm.
Precautionary Measure
The screening procedure and treatment for infertility can be lengthy, expensive, and sometimes frustrating. Each IVF attempt requires an entire menstrual cycle and may or may not be covered by health insurance. The anxiety of dealing with infertility can be challenging for both individuals and their relationships. The extra stress and expense of multiple hospital visits, tests, treatments, and surgical procedures can be overwhelming. Couples may want counseling and support during this process.
Description
In vitro, fertilization is the process by which an egg and sperm are combined outside a woman’s body. A woman may be given fertility drugs before this procedure so that several eggs can mature in the ovaries simultaneously. Eggs are extracted from the woman’s ovaries through a thin needle.
Your doctor will be able to access your ovaries in one of two possible ways: One method involves inserting a needle through the vagina.
Doctors use an ultrasound machine to locate the ovaries with a needle. Another method, called laparoscopy, involves inserting a small, thin tube with a viewing lens through an incision in the belly button. This allows the doctor to see inside the patient, where the ovaries are located, on a video monitor.
Once the eggs are extracted and mixed with sperm in a laboratory dish or test tube. (The term test tube baby comes from this.) The eggs are observed for several days. Once evidence of fertilization has occurred and cell division has begun, it returns to the woman’s uterus.
During the extraction process, the ovaries (with or without fertilization) may be collected, frozen, or stored for further IVF attempts.
Other types of assisted reproductive technology may have been used to achieve pregnancy. Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) is a manipulation technique performed using a microscope to insert a single sperm into each egg. Like IVF, the fertilized egg is returned to the uterus. In gamete intrafallopian tube transfer, eggs and sperm are mixed in a thin tube and placed in the fallopian line, where fertilization initially occurs.
Prepare
When a woman decides to volunteer for in vitro fertilization, she is usually given “fertility drugs” to stimulate the ovulation and maturation of several ovaries. The development of the egg is monitored by ultrasound and frequent blood tests. Once enough eggs have matured, the IVF Center in Lahore will perform a procedure to extract them. Women may be given a sedative before this procedure. A local anesthetic may be used to reduce discomfort during the process.
