
In Against the Storm, only the toughest prestiges rank. There are a few species that can hold their own, but others seem to be a liability.
In Against the Storm, each species has its own strengths and can be useful based on how the map is changed. Most of the veterans can get to a reasonable prestige level with any of the three species. Still, the pros have their favourites when they have a choice of species in their loadout.
As with many games, how a player likes to play a game is a factor when picking favourites. Victories from high resolve bonuses have to be weighed against the need for fuel and food. How this all works out is important to gamers in different ways. Still, there is a reason why the Against the Storm community win rates are better for some species and lower for others.

Keywords

You need to know a few words that will help you figure out what makes each species unique.
- Base Resolve: Base Resolve is the Resolve a species has before it has any wants met or effects put on it. The bigger this number is, the more bad buffs a species can take before leaving.
- Break Interval: How long it takes until the next break. The higher this number is, the less time will be spent on breaks and the more work will be done.
- Resilient: How quickly Resolve adapts to new situations. If a species has a high durability, its Resolve will fall and rise more slowly.
- Demanding: Wanting to know how much Resolve is needed to get Reputation. If a species has a high demand, it means that it needs more of its needs to be met before it will give Reputation points.
- Decadent: How far the Reputation bar goes when you get a Reputation point. When a species is very corrupt, it takes more Resolve to earn more Reputation points.
- Hunger Tolerance: The most hunger a species can handle at once. When a species stops to rest and doesn’t have any food, they add a hunger score. The more hunger a species can handle, the more amounts of hunger it can have before it dies.

There are some important advantages to being a fox. When you’ve opened more than a few glades, it’s important to lower aggression, so it’s smart to switch to a fox firekeeper near the end of the game. Because there isn’t much of a need for this species, it’s also easy to get Reputation through Resolve. In high status games, you have to get these types of Reputation points.
The fox doesn’t bring enough to the table, which is a shame. Rainwater is easy to get, and scouting time doesn’t matter much as long as players wait until right after a storm to open glades and start events. They also die quickly from hunger and have specific needs when it comes to food and care. If the fox species doesn’t get off to a good start, this game will start to feel like one of the longer roguelike games.

Maps with rich land and people who are good farmers can make sure there is always enough food, which is a key part of winning games. They also have a high base resolve, so it’s likely they’ll be able to handle bad weather and other problems.
Even when all of their wants are met, they are the hardest species to get Reputation points from, which is a pretty good drawback. Use them to buy food, but don’t count on getting much help anywhere else.Humans are a good choice for people who are new to this game, especially on smaller difficulties.

The harpies start out with a lot going against them. Their base resolve is low, and the boosts they give to chemistry and clothing jobs aren’t very common. Getting 50 coats helps you get dressed early on, but these kinds of benefits generally matter more later on.
The harpy is amazing because it is the best species in Geometry Dash Subzero game for giving Reputation points while also having low Decadent and Demand needs. At higher status levels, players need a few Reputation points from Resolve, and the harpy is the best way to get those points. Players who can meet the needs of the harpies will win a lot and learn why this roguelike game deserves more attention.

The Lizard is the most helpful species of all, and having one as a firekeeper gives all species an extra resolve point. Usually, ten tools would cost a tonne of amber, but Lizards start with them. Since they know how to cook game, they can feed themselves and others.
They won’t be able to add points to their Reputation with Resolve, but they won’t lose points either, because their high Resilient score keeps their Resolve from going down most of the time. Lastly, Lizards can go for a long time without food, which lets players in one of the best strategy games focus on other ways to win.

Gamers who have more than twenty honour levels know that fuel is the most important thing. Beavers are the best solution to this problem because they bring in more wood that can be turned into fuel. When you’re in a tight spot, having a Beaver keep the fire going also helps the fuel burn for longer.Beaver lumberjacks makes the game easy to understand for people who have never played an RTS game before.
They don’t have to take breaks, and they only eat two things. They have simple wants that are easy to meet and a strong will to stay, so they won’t leave any time soon. Even though they aren’t the easiest species to get Reputation points from through Resolve, they help other species live long enough to reach this goal.
