Story Review
Chris (played by Eric Andre) is a lowlife who has done odd jobs his whole life. One day, he finds out that Maria (played by Michaela Conlin) was his first love. So, he and his best friend Bud, (who is played by Lil Rel Howery), decide to go to New York to meet Maria in her art gallery, where Chris will propose and make love to her. But Bud’s mean sister Trina (Tiffany Haddish) goes crazy because the boys took their pink “Bad Bitch” wagon to go to New York. And that’s about all there is to the story.
A classic buddy comedy that works because of the real-life pranks that happen in it. The jokes always make you cringe in a good way, which shows that the acts are a lot of fun. Eric Andre is a genius. We feel like this isn’t said enough. He will do anything, risk anything, and confuse anyone to get that footage on camera.
Whether on the Eric Andre show or in Bad Trip, his entertainment has always been based on one thing: how people respond. What he does is some of the craziest things a 20-year-old can think of, but it’s interesting because no one ever thought something like this would happen right in front of them. One of the best examples is the Gorilla trick in Bad Trip.
Acting
Eric Andre’s performance in the movie “Bad Trip” is one of the best parts. He is known for his witty and offbeat style of comedy. Throughout the lookmovie, he fearlessly does funny things in crazy situations and makes everyone laugh. He’s not afraid to crack jokes and be silly in front of people he doesn’t know.
Eric Andre’s timing and ability to think on the spot add to the fun of the film. He surprises both the people present in the film and the audience with his jokes and funny antics. You never know what funny thing he will do next, which makes it exciting to watch.
Lil Riley Howery, who plays Chris’s best friend Bud in the film, also does a good job. She and Eric André work well together, and their friendship feels genuine even in the midst of all the craziness. Havery’s emotional acting makes you care more for the characters and connect with the story.
Final Words
Bad Trip is a ride that falls into the category of “caper” movies, which works well. It’s a story told through a never-ending set of jokes and social experiments that not only make it fun but, strangely, also shape the story. Each joke is over the top and very Eric Andre, but they’re not trying to point out anyone’s wrongdoing or conduct social studies in that way. There are a lot of disgusting details in it, but the whole thing feels very real and well-thought-out.
