5 Years old Indian Girl Summited Everest Base Camp – New Record

We think Kids are small and they can’t do trekking but we are here with an amazing girl Prisha Lokesh Nikajoo who completes the EBC trek on June 2, 2023. Prisha is 5 years 6 months old girl from Lodha Palava City, Lakeshore Greens, Thane, Mumbai living with her parents.

Prisha Lokesh Nikajoo is probably the first Indian girl to reach the Everest base camp by walking from Lukla. She completes the EBC trek energetically in 12 days. Mission Summit treks and expedition has planned her trekking with her father Lokesh Nikajoo and guide Nilkumar Magar.

Trekking to the base camp of Mt Everest by 5-year-old girl is beyond the imagination. We have seen countless adults returning back from half route to Everest base camp. As a miracle, Prisha Lokesh Nikajoo has completed the EBC trek on her own effort.

How did Prisha prepare for the EBC trek?

Prisha is very strong determined girl with a mountaineering passion. Even though she is too small for the EBC trek but her preparation and trekking experience was enough for selection from a trekking company. She was trained by her parents – Lokesh Nikajoo and Seema Lokesh Nikajoo. Some of her common physical exercises before EBC trek are listed below:-

  • 5-6 miles walk per day
  • Aerobics
  • Climbing stairs
  • Climbing walls

Trekking and hiking experience of Prisha:

As morning shows the day, Prisha started trekking when she was two years old. Climbing the small hills of Singhgad, Lohgad, Visapur, Kalsubai, Karnala, Sondai, Kothaligad, Irshalgad, Prabalmachi, Kalavanthin, Shivneri, and Raigad along with hiking in the highest peak of Maharashtra at the age of Three.

Prisha followed the same Everest base camp trek itinerary as the other adult follows. The itinerary is listed below:

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu and check into Hotel

Day 2: Early Morning Lukla flight (2840m) and Trek to Phakding (2,610m); Walking 4 Hours.

Day 3: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m); Walking 6 Hours

Day 4: Acclimatizing day at Namche Bazaar (3,440m).

Day 5: Trek to Tengboche (3,860m) Walking 5 Hours, O/n at Tea House

Day 6: Trek to Dingboche (4,410m) Walking 5 Hours, O/n at Tea House

Day 7: Rest day in Dingboche (4,410m), O/N at Tea House

Day 8: Trek to Lobuche (4,910m) Walking 4 and half hours, O/n at Tea House

Day 9: Trek to Gorak Shep (5,140m) – Afternoon Everest Base Camp Visit (5,364m) O/n at Tea House,

Day 10: Early morning, climb Kalapatthar (5545m), Trek to Pheriche (4,270m); walking 5 Hours, O/n at Tea House

Day 11: Pheriche- Namche (3,440m) Walking 8 Hours, O/n at Tea House

Day 12: Trek to Lukla (2840m) Walking 8 Hours, O/n at Tea House

Day 13: Fly back to Kathmandu from Lukla. O/N at Hotel

Day 14: Departure from Nepal, Drop service till International Airport
